Bantam Bagels as seen on Shark Tank!

Updated: Nov 24, 2020

West Village, NYC

Who knew it was even possible to make the bagel even more to-go?! The Columbia grads that own Bantam Bagels, featured on ABC's Shark Tank, made it possible by making round-shaped bagel dough with different toppings and fillings. It was an easy subway ride down to Greenwich Village and across the street from the subway to Bantam Bagels. It was easy to locate the store front and as you walk in, you can smell bagels. You know what smell I'm talking about...warm bagels, fresh out of the oven. They have metal trays with the different flavors, from savory to sweet, you choose what they have left from what they made.

Format

What exactly is this Bantam Bagel? A traditional bagel is a circular-shaped dough with the hole in the middle..similar to the shape of a donut. However, the Bantam Bagel is shaped like a munchkin. Some have toppings while others have fillings, or both!

Flavors

They have quite the extensive list of the flavors you can choose from like the French Toast to The Classic. The Classic would be the plain bagel stuffed with plain cream cheese. You can view some of their flavors and collections here.

What I Tried

Bleecker St. Pizza dough bagel stuffed with marinara mozzarella cream cheese. The dough was exactly like a bagel, chewy on the inside. The salty filling went well with dough. The real winner was the pepperoni on top.

Hot Pretzel This was my favorite one! It was a delicious salted pretzel bagel filled with cheddar dijon cream cheese. It felt like I was eating a pretzel at a game dipped in a cheese sauce. It also has salt sprinkled on top!

Bagel VS Bantam Bagel

They're smaller in size however a lot more expensive that your normal bagel. Also, since the cream cheese is on the inside, it has a different consistency, not as moist as normal spreadable cream cheese.

What do I recommend?

If I just had to choose one, the Hot Pretzel was my favorite! If I could have ordered an entire box, I would have.

I would also suggest going earlier in the day to order the bagels. I went in the evening and you can only choose from whatever they have left.

There's also a park in the neighborhood so grab some of those Bantam Bagels and enjoy the view!
