Is there anything better than spicy fried chicken and biscuits? Yes, you'll it at the Biscuit Love in the Gulch!
You'll see the name Biscuit Love pop up for one of the places you must visit when you're in Nashville. Along with that, there's also a beautiful line around the corner just waiting to get seated. Since they opened at 7 AM, we came up with a plan to get there a few minutes after they opened. There was still a line out that door but a very short one! With the sun beating down, if you need some water while you're waiting in line, they even have a hydration station if people want to get some ice cold water.
Once you walk inside, there's a long table lined with some products like magnets, books and measuring spoons with their logo on it. When you get to the register, you tell them what you want and they'll hand you a number number, you pay and seat wherever you want. It was great when you have the number stand when you're in a large group so the order goes precisely to whom ordered it.
A favorite item on the menu that can be shared is the bonuts; the bonut is a fired biscuit dough in sugar, topped with lemon mascarpone and served over a blueberry compote. One order come with 5 bonuts. Other "sharing" menu items include churros, pork and pimento, hummingbird family reserve and gertie! With an entire section of their menu designated to biscuits, there was one that came highly recommended: Nasty Princess. It's not something you see on the menu but it's a combination of the East Nasty and the Princess. We're trying to get key items on one plate, the biscuit and gravy and the Nashville-style spicy, hot chicken! Nashville knows how to make a spicy, fried chicken. It's a meal that will fill you up so don't eat anything before coming here. The thick piece of chicken is topped with gravy, an egg done to your liking and a biscuit. There's a reason why there's a long line outside; people are willing to wait for some good Nashville hot-fried chicken!
