OAKBROOK TERRACE, IL

It was the perfect weather for a wine tasting outside on the patio of Brook's Kitchen and Tap (#brookskitchenandtap). Inside of the restaurant you had some seating and even a  gaming space. BK&T is part of a strip of stores so parking is limited depending on the time of the day you're there. In front of the patio tables, there were tables in the front with bottles of different wine you could try in small cups. The three I got to try was the France Rosé All Day (*clean with a fruity end), Dr. L Riezling 2017 (*similar to Mosel Riezling) and the Little Things red wine (*full bodied with a hint of fruit). The favorite of the evening was the Dr. L Riezling as it's a great introductory wine.

There were four appetizers passed around for everyone's different palette. There was the tenderloin slider that had a slice of tomato inside; it was a bit dry and was in need of some sort of sauce.

The gazpacho shot topped with creme and a spiced cucumber on the rim was the underdog; I didn't think I would like it and yet I drank the entire thing.

There is nothing better that a well-toasted buttered bruschetta spread with cheese and sprinkled with crispy prosciutto; well executed and the salt of the prosciutto packed a punch. My favorite  was the fried, smashed sweet potato topped the sea bass ceviche; flavors paired well and I asked for a second. Third. And possibly a fourth.

I'll most likely be making another trip to try their small bites that they pair with wine. Also, following them on social media they seem to have a lot of small events you can sign up for so I'll be looking forward to one of them in the future.
