Buffeting at Ichi Umi

This is definitely the classiest Japanese buffet I've been too. The pictures make this place look magnificent and it's even better in person.

The restaurant is connected to Menlo Park Mall however you enter and exit separately. It has plenty of parking in front of the store however if its the holiday season around, it might a little bit harder. There is plenty of seating inside..plenty.

You have so many options for your food which can cater to different peoples eating styles. They have an assortment of meats and veggies for a hot pot option. They also have very few sushi options you can try. In the back right hand side they have their cooked, hot foods from your crab cakes to tuna balls. I was looking forward to their desert section but very disappointed.

Few selections however the cake bites were dried out. They have pre-scooped ice cream in a mini fridge. The fruit tarts were bland. At least their fruit was good. The turning point however was their crepe station- oh yes, I said station! They make the crepe in front of you and you can choose what filling you want inside (blueberry jam, strawberry, etc.) and then top it off with whatever toppings (chocolate, whipped cream, powdered sugar, etc.) they have there. The crepe wasn't the best but it was better than their other sweet options. This place was A-OK. For how expensive the place was, I don't think I'll be visiting the place again.
