My friend Sierla and Ziggy raved about this place called Jollibee and I've heard nothing but positive feedback from everyone that's gone there. It was easy to find their large, red sign in front of the store on W. Touhy Ave. We went inside to get the full experience (they have a drive thru too!) and spent quite some time in front of the menu to decide what to get. Their menu was huge! Details outlined below:
1. Jolly Spaghetti | It wasn't our favorite items on the menu but it was intriguing as we were eating it. The tomato sauce was slightly sweeter than what we're used to having at home and there were small pieces of sliced hot dog and pork inside the sauce. It was topped off with shredded cheese as well. The meal comes with fried chicken. The fried chicken was delicious. The gravy that comes with it is very similar in taste to the Boston Market gravy.
2. Jolly Hotdog | Great! I was surprised I got my husband to eat hot dog with ketchup on it in Illinois but it worked! There was a honey mustard sauce on the hot dog bun topped with the hot dog, more honey mustard with a sliver of ketchup lined with shredded cheese on the outside. We annihilated it in less than 2 minutes so we'd recommend it to anyone that stops by!
It was a short trip but there were so many items on the menu that a second trip is mandatory. Some items we'll be aiming for are the Palabok fiesta, the peach mango pie and the burger steak!
