Thank God this was my last delicious meal in New Jersey was at Topaz.
It's my last meal in NJ before moving to Schaumberg, Illinois and I'm happy I had it at Topaz in Belleview, New Jersey. When you enter the restaurant, there's a sign that says, "Welcome to Mama's," and you instantly notice why when you're greeted by a fantastic human being who they refer to as Mama. It was a quiet evening with some of their tables filled, all local residents who knew Mama well as she made her rounds talking to all of the people inside.
They have a neon sign with their daily specials and the great thing is you are able to customize their dishes whether it's the poultry or the noodles you like. Pictures below!
Appetizers
1. Spring Rolls | Fried rolls with vermicelli noodles, cabbage and carrots served with a sweet, plum sauce.
2. Topaz Puffs | White meat chicken, onions, potatoes in a yellow curry paste inside a pastry puff served with a dipping sauce.
Main Course
1. Crispy Volcano Chicken | White chicken pieces lightly battered in seasoning and topped with a tamarind chilli sauce (served with rice).
2. Specials Coconut Rock Shrimps | Part of their daily special, it was shrimp sauteed with mixed vegetables with your choice of noodles. You can customize this dish!
