During quarantine, no ones traveling much but this subscription box lets your fly across the ocean and experience another country...through their food anyway. Welcome to the United Kingdom.
Subscription boxes are a great way to try different types of food in one experience and Universal Yums is no different. When you visit their website, you have the option of either signing up for their subscription of give a gift for an increment of 1, 3, 6 or 12 months. I love the gift of one month so someone you know can try different snacks if their favorite country.
I chose the United Kingdom for my box and I was very excited with the plethora of items I received in my box. It was a mix of different snacks and candy from the country you chose.
Once, you open the box, you'll see a flyer that shows which snack corresponds with which specific area in the country. The pamphlet helps you navigate through each snack, what its called and where it comes from.
Signing up for the box was easy. It walks you through clearly to choose your interval and completing all of the information you need to fill out. I can't wait to try the Neatherlands box full of chocolate! You have the option of selecting from three different packages that vary with the number of items you receive. I'll include a snippet below for the gift category. From there you choose a destination and confirm what your time interval will be (i.e. 1 month, 12 months, etc.).
While I'm not going to cover everything inside of the box, I'll include some of my favorites below:
Chewy Bonbons Rhubarb & Custard
I haven't had bonbons since I bought them from the French Club in high school. It was just as I remembered them. The candy was soft, chewy and delicious! Its nice to have to share with friends when they come over!
Johnny's Pickled Onion Rings
This was a favorite for both my husband and I. If you're a fan of salt and vinegar chips, you'll love this. It's also puffed like your normal onion ring with a kick of the pickled onion flavor. The pamphlet refers to pickled onions being a classic found at UK pubs.
Welsh Potato Chips Lamb & Mint
With lamb being a big part of Brecon, these interesting lamp and mint chips is a great depiction of Wales agriculture. I tried this more so because it was an interesting flavor and to my surprise it was delicious with a good crunch to it.
